Ghaziabad doctor dates married patient, smothers her to death after she forces him to live in

A doctor was arrested in Ghaziabad for allegedly smothering a married woman patient to death.

Ghaziabad: A doctor smothered his woman patient who he had been dating as she had been forcing him to live with him. The 33-year-old doctor met the woman a few months ago. Both of them are married to other people. The two grew close with time and the woman started asking the doctor to start living with her. The doctor, however, did not intend to do the same. 

The deceased woman has four children. The accused was identified as Ismail, For the last 5 years, Ismail had been running a clinic in Dasna. A few months ago, the doctor met the woman and got romantically involved with her. 

On September 7, the woman went missing and her husband lodged a complaint with the Ghaziabad police. The police officers shared the photographs of the woman with police stations in other districts and states. 

Body found in Kurukshetra 

The police could not locate the woman even after one month of search but the probe took a turn on October 15 when the police received a call from Haryana cops, stating that a body had been found in Kurukshetra. The cops told the Ghaziabad police that the photographs of the corpse matched with the ones shared with them. 

'Woman was pestering the doctor to stay together'

After the identification of the woman, the police checked her call records and grew suspicious of Ismail. During interrogation, Ismail confessed to murdering the woman. An official told The Times of India, "The woman was pestering the doctor to stay together, but he kept refusing as he was married."

On September 7, the doctor took the woman to a hotel in Paharganj on a two-wheeler and left the room when she fell asleep. The next day, the man hired a car and returned to Paharganj. He picked up the woman from the hotel and told her that they were going to Chandigarh. 

On the way, the couple started having a fight and the woman, who was asthmatic, started having breathing issues. The doctor injected a combination of drugs to the woman and she lost consciousness. The accused used a towel to smother the woman to death. The accused dumped the body at a secluded spot and returned home. He continued running his clinic and managed to evade suspicion. The accused booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
