UP Shocker: Mathura Doctor Gives 15 of His Own Samples To Complete Covid-19 Testing Target | Watch

Mathura: In a shocking case of medical negligence, a doctor in UP’s Mathura was filmed giving more than 15 of his own samples for conducting Covid-19 test in order to complete the sampling target set by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

The incident happened at the Baldeo community health centre where the samples of Dr Rajkumar Saraswat were seen being taken by a health worker. The samples were then sent for tests with fake names to the CMO office.

In the video which has gone viral, the doctor was seen giving around 15 swab samples from his nose and throat to a health worker to meet the daily testing target.

Watch the video:

One of the health workers can also be heard in the video advising him not to conduct so many tests on himself, as it could land him in trouble.

Notably, the district health authorities of Mathura have set a target of 1,500 sample tests per day.

Another doctor from the same community centre, Amit, filed a complaint with the CMO regarding the incident and alleged that the contractual employees of the facility are being pressurized by CHC in-charge Dr Yogendra Singh Rana to collect fake samples if fewer people were turning up to the centre for tests.

He further alleged that corona positive patients were being home isolated with his fake signatures. He said that the CHC in-charge threatened them to conduct the target number of tests or else their contract would be terminated.

After the video went viral, the district health authorities have initiated a probe into the matter.
